Iamgold (IAG) shares surged 6.19% in pre-market trading on Wednesday, following the release of its first-quarter financial results.
The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.67, significantly surpassing the analyst consensus estimate of approximately $0.53 and representing a substantial year-over-year increase. Revenue reached $1.03 billion, also exceeding market expectations and more than doubling from the prior-year period. The strong performance was attributed to rising gold prices and higher production volumes.
The positive earnings report has generated significant investor optimism, contributing to the sharp pre-market gain for the gold miner.
