HSBC Holdings Advances Buyback Program with 1.13 Million Shares Repurchased at HKD 55.19 Million

On 11 August 2026, HSBC Holdings plc released a Next Day Disclosure Return detailing recent activity under its authorised share-repurchase mandate. Key points are as follows:

• Issued share capital remained unchanged at 17.18 billion ordinary shares (par value US$0.50 each) between 7 and 10 August 2026; no treasury shares were held.

• Between 6 and 10 August 2026, the bank bought back 1.13 million shares for cancellation that had not yet been removed from the register as of 10 August.  – 6 Aug 2026: 446,000 shares at an average HKD 158.72  – 7 Aug 2026: 340,000 shares at an average HKD 160.33  – 10 Aug 2026: 340,000 shares at an average HKD 162.31

• The most recent trade (10 August) accounted for 340,000 shares, executed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at prices ranging from HKD 161.60 to HKD 162.80, for a total consideration of HKD 55.19 million.

• Cumulative purchases since shareholder approval on 8 May 2026 now stand at 1.13 million shares—equivalent to 0.0066 % of shares outstanding at the mandate date—against an authorisation limit of 1.72 billion shares.

• Pursuant to Hong Kong Listing Rule 10.06(3), HSBC is subject to a moratorium on new share issues until 9 September 2026, except for contingent convertible securities already consented to by the exchange.

The disclosure confirms that all repurchases complied with applicable Main Board rules, and there have been no material changes to the explanatory statement dated 27 March 2026.
