Former U.S. President Donald Trump's social media platform announced plans on Thursday to sell priority access to its "most market-moving" posts to Wall Street firms.

The parent company of Truth Social, Trump Media & Technology Group, stated it will introduce a real-time data feed service called Truth API. This interface will allow investment institutions to receive posts from top accounts on the platform instantly.

Trump launched Truth Social in February 2022, using it as his primary channel for direct written communication. During his campaign for a second term, he announced dozens of significant adjustments to government policy or military actions, moves that frequently influenced stock market trends.

An Application Programming Interface (API) is a data stream commonly offered by companies and organizations to provide immediate and secure access to information.

Both retail and professional investors utilize APIs for key financial or economic data, including those provided by the U.S. Department of Labor, to formulate trading strategies.

Trump Media & Technology Group plans to launch the Truth API on August 1. This platform will provide America's leading investment firms with the earliest access to market-moving posts on Truth Social, enabling algorithmic trading programs to react to news more swiftly.

"Markets are already reacting to Truth Social posts," said Kevin McGurn, interim CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group. "The Truth API delivers the platform's most impactful Truths in a direct, authorized, real-time manner, advancing our strategy to monetize our owned asset through a high-margin, sustainable revenue stream."

He added, "As this service gains adoption, we expect Truth API to become a stable and significant revenue source for the company, creating long-term value for shareholders."

The Truth API could become another channel for Trump to leverage his presidential profile for personal gain.

In December 2024, one month before Trump's inauguration, concerns over potential conflicts of interest intensified. At that time, he transferred his shares into a trust, thereby holding an indirect stake of approximately 53% in Trump Media & Technology Group.

Earlier this month, the President disclosed earning over $2 billion in income during his first year back in the White House, with more than $1 billion originating from his family's cryptocurrency venture, "World Freedom Financial."

During his first presidential term, Trump expressed skepticism toward cryptocurrency but became a strong advocate ahead of the 2024 election. Shortly thereafter, his family's crypto business launched several products, including a stablecoin. Upon taking office, the President actively promoted legislation favorable to the crypto industry and signed a bill establishing clear regulatory rules for stablecoins.

Trump has also called on the Senate to pass the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. This bipartisan core cryptocurrency regulatory bill is the legislation most desired by the entire industry.
