During January-August 2025, China's automotive market continued its growth momentum, with both production and sales exceeding 20 million units. The new energy vehicle penetration rate in the passenger car segment reached 55.3%, while domestic brand market share climbed to 64%. Against this industry backdrop, BYD COMPANY-100 maintained its leading position with strong performance: BYD sold 374,000 new energy vehicles in August, with cumulative sales of 2.864 million units for January-August, representing a 23% year-over-year increase that significantly outpaced the industry average growth rate.
Among these figures, BYD Auto (Dynasty | Ocean series) made outstanding contributions, achieving August sales of 343,000 units and single-brand sales of 2.63 million units for January-August, securing the top position on the sales chart and maintaining a commanding lead advantage.
The core driver behind this sales growth stems from deep technological accumulation. BYD's "Sky God's Eye" driver assistance system, launched at the beginning of the year, has now achieved cumulative sales of over 1.4 million units across equipped vehicle models. In August, driver assistance-equipped models accounted for 90% of domestic sales, generating over 87 million kilometers of driver assistance data daily. According to the August intelligent driving assistance vehicle brand sales rankings released by Pacific Auto, BYD dominated with 263,700 units, equivalent to the combined sales of brands ranked 2nd through 10th.
While consolidating its domestic market position, BYD continues to expand its overseas market presence. In August, overseas sales of passenger cars and pickup trucks reached 80,464 units, surging 146.4% year-over-year. For 2025, cumulative overseas sales reached 630,728 units, up 135.7% year-over-year, accounting for 22% of total sales volume.
