Huaneng Power International, Inc. recently announced the successful issuance of its fourth tranche of 2026 super short-term commercial papers. The total issuing amount was RMB3.00 billion, carrying a maturity of 55 days at an interest rate of 1.49%. China CITIC Bank Corporation Limited and Bank of Beijing Co., Ltd. served as the lead underwriters for the offering.
According to the announcement, the mandate for issuing debt financing instruments with an outstanding principal amount up to the equivalent of RMB170.00 billion was approved at the 2024 annual general meeting, remaining valid until the conclusion of the 2025 annual general meeting. Proceeds from this tranche are designated to supplement working capital, adjust debt structure, and repay bank loans and other due debts.
