On the first working day following the Lunar New Year holiday, companies including Baidu, Tencent, Kuaishou, and Xiaomi distributed red envelopes to employees as a gesture to mark the start of the new year.

Baidu founder Robin Li’s digital avatar sent red envelopes via the company’s internal communication platform "Ruilai." The amounts varied, including 365 yuan, 588 yuan, 666 yuan, 888 yuan, and a maximum of 2026 yuan, while interns received 188 yuan. It is noteworthy that Baidu had not previously issued such red envelopes after the Spring Festival holiday.

Tencent provided red envelopes of 400 yuan each to full-time employees, recent graduates, interns, and long-term consultants. Additionally, the company offered randomized "encouragement packets" tied to specific keywords, with values ranging from 19.98 yuan to 66.66 yuan. These amounts were credited to employees' WeChat wallets within approximately two hours after being claimed.

Kuaishou gave each full-time employee a red envelope containing 366 yuan. According to screenshots shared by staff, the message inside read: “In 2026, let’s embark on a new journey together. With unity and determination, may all our wishes come true. Wishing everyone a prosperous start to the new year.”

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun personally distributed red envelopes to employees at the company's headquarters. In a social media post earlier that day, he stated: “On the first day of the Year of the Horse, we accomplished two major tasks: First, together with the executive team, we handed out red envelopes to Xiaomi colleagues, wishing everyone a thriving and successful new year. Second, we unveiled a new color for the next-generation SU7: Crimson Red. I am confident that the new SU7 will be a highly anticipated Dream Car and will bring a strong start to Xiaomi in the Year of the Horse.”
