Data released by the Ministry of Commerce indicates that China's e-commerce industry has achieved steady and creative development over the first seven months of this year. The integration of online and offline channels is tapping into consumer potential, with nationwide online retail sales of goods and services expanding by 4.8% year-on-year in this period. This segment now contributes more than half of the overall growth in social retail sales of goods and services.

Digital platforms are broadening the scope of product consumption while enhancing the convenience of service-oriented purchases. On e-commerce platforms monitored by the Ministry of Commerce, sales in the online tourism and online lifestyle service sectors grew by 24.9% and 16.3% respectively during January to July.

E-commerce is also accelerating industrial transformation and upgrades. According to commercial big data monitoring, online retail sales of agricultural products and rural commodities increased by 12.8% and 5% respectively in the first seven months. Across various regions, efforts to foster "e-commerce plus industrial belts" have linked digital platforms with specialized manufacturing clusters, leading to a 1.4% rise in the online transaction value of industrial goods and a 1.2% increase in chemical products. Furthermore, online shopping and digital content consumption are driving significant growth in related service industries.
