Capital Financial Holdings (08239) has issued a profit alert, signaling a substantial improvement in its financial performance for the first half of the fiscal year.
The company announced that it anticipates recording a profit attributable to shareholders for the six months ending June 30, 2026, that is at least HK$10 million higher than the corresponding period in the previous year.
This anticipated surge in profitability is primarily attributed to a one-time gain of approximately HK$15.6 million generated from the disposal of a subsidiary during the period.
The non-recurring gain from the divestiture stems from two key accounting effects: the derecognition of non-controlling interests totaling around HK$18.1 million, combined with the reclassification of approximately HK$2.6 million in cumulative exchange reserves from the sold subsidiary to the profit and loss statement.
