The company announced on July 2nd that the first candidate selection milestone in its siRNA collaboration project with Madrigal Pharmaceuticals has been achieved. The collaboration aims to advance cutting-edge RNA therapies for liver diseases, with a primary focus on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).

Achieving the Initial Goal

This milestone represents the outcome of efficient collaboration between the parties. Following this achievement, studies supporting an Investigational New Drug (IND) application will commence to facilitate subsequent clinical research.

Addressing a Major Health Concern

MASH is a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, liver cancer, necessitating liver transplantation and leading to premature death. It is the leading cause of liver transplantation in women and the second most common cause for liver transplants in the United States. It is also the fastest-growing indication for liver transplantation in Europe, affecting over 200 million people globally.

Path Forward for the Partnership

RIBOLIFE-B and Madrigal intend to leverage the company's validated liver-targeting RiboGalSTARTM platform to develop promising siRNA therapeutics. The goal is to provide more targeted and effective treatment options for MASH patients, a group with significant unmet medical needs.
