At the Intelligent Electric Vehicle Development High-Level Forum (2026) held from April 11th to 12th at the China National Convention Center Phase II in Beijing, Kang Bo, Vice President of Seres Group, delivered a speech. The forum's theme focused on advancing the intelligent, green, integrated, and international development of new energy vehicles.

Kang Bo stated that China has become a central force leading the global green transformation of the automotive industry. He emphasized that the era of going it alone is over. In the face of accelerating technological iteration, supply chain restructuring, and intensifying global competition, only open cooperation, cross-sector integration, and supply chain collaboration can secure future success.

He underscored that authentic innovation is not achieved overnight but results from long-term persistence and accumulation. During the global transition to electrification, prominent challenges include the difficulty of transformation, uneven development, and complexities in supply chain coordination. Regarding how to build an efficient, resilient, and sustainable global supply chain system, Seres' approach is to foster a win-win ecosystem through open collaboration.

Kang Bo noted that Chinese automakers are currently facing unprecedented opportunities, with global consumers' recognition of Chinese manufacturing rapidly increasing and the overseas expansion of automobiles accelerating comprehensively. He clarified that globalization is not merely about product export but involves the comprehensive output of technology, products, services, and brand value, even extending to the entire ecosystem chain.

He outlined a three-phase development path essential for Chinese brands aiming for internationalization: First, entering the market by establishing a business foundation through trade cooperation. Second, moving up the value chain via localized production and research and development. Third, going global by achieving worldwide output of technical standards and brand value.

Kang Bo also cautioned that it is crucial to clearly recognize the numerous challenges Chinese automakers face in their overseas expansion. Beyond geopolitical uncertainties, these include varying compliance requirements across different overseas markets, security and privacy protection of technical data, and the long-term effort required to build a brand.
