CKH HOLDINGS has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, detailing progress against its four-pillar framework of Governance, Sustainable Business Model & Innovation, Environment and Social. The report covers operations in about 50 markets and more than 300,000 employees for the year ended 31 December 2025.
Governance and Oversight • The Board, supported by dedicated Sustainability and Audit Committees, meets twice and four times a year respectively to review ESG strategy, risks and performance. • Female representation on the 18-member Board stands at 28% and is set to rise to 31% after the 2026 AGM. • Group-wide Code of Conduct, Anti-Fraud & Anti-Bribery Policy and Supplier Code of Conduct underpin a zero-tolerance stance on ethical breaches.
Climate and Environmental Performance • Scope 1+2 emissions fell 23% versus the 2020 baseline, totalling 7.84 million tCO2e on a market-based basis. The Group remains on track to meet its 50% cut by 2035 and net-zero ambition by 2050. • Scope 3 emissions reached 11.69 million tCO2e; purchased goods and services accounted for 61% of the total. • Total energy use declined to 22.05 billion kWh; renewable electricity (mainly via energy attribute certificates) covered 56% of purchased power. • On-site generation delivered 3.68 TWh from biomass, solar, wind and hydro assets. • Green capex and opex reached US$1.97 billion, with 79% channelled into renewable and clean energy, energy efficiency and water projects. • Hazardous waste amounted to 50,927 tonnes; non-hazardous waste 720,912 tonnes, of which 80% was recycled or otherwise diverted from landfill. • Water withdrawal totalled 560.37 million m³, 94% of which related to the Infrastructure division; 1.91 million m³ of water was recycled.
Risk Management and Cybersecurity • A Cyber Security Working Group, chaired by the Group Co-Managing Director & Group Finance Director, reports to the Audit Committee bi-annually. • All head-office staff complete annual training on business ethics and data privacy; divisional roll-outs extend similar modules to front-line employees and suppliers.
People and Community • Workforce totalled 207,276, with women representing 51% of full-time staff; 83% of employees received training, averaging 21.9 hours each. • Group-wide leadership and upskilling programmes targeted future-ready capabilities, AI proficiency and green-skills development. • Four work-related fatalities were recorded in the ports division; 27,144 lost days and 1,033 lost-time injury incidents were reported Group-wide. • Community initiatives focused on environmental restoration, youth development and disaster relief, highlighted by the “Go Beyond Go Green” campaign engaging 4,432 students and AS Watson’s “Give a Smile” programme exceeding 10,000 surgeries for children with cleft conditions.
Supply Chain Oversight • The Group engaged 97,080 suppliers globally; sustainability clauses and the Supplier Code of Conduct are mandatory in all new contracts. • Retail and Telecommunications divisions expanded supplier GHG disclosure and target-setting programmes; Infrastructure and Ports strengthened contractor safety protocols.
Outlook CKH HOLDINGS confirms that capital programmes, including US$1.97 billion of 2025 green spending and division-specific SBTi-validated targets, position the Group to meet its 50% Scope 1+2 reduction goal by 2035 while phasing out coal-fired generation worldwide by the same date.
