Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced on Monday that it is experiencing operational issues. Hundreds of websites and applications, including popular gaming and entertainment services, have reported service disruptions or outages.

In a statement, Amazon indicated that its engineers are working to contain the impact of the issue and to identify the root cause. The statement also noted that 28 of its services, including those in the "US East 1" region, have been affected by the problem.

DownDetector, a site that tracks network outages, reported issues with dozens of major websites, including Amazon, the mobile payment platform Venmo, the streaming service Hulu, McDonald's, and the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.

Several businesses have identified the root of the problem as being linked to AWS, including Coinbase. The company posted on X platform, stating, "We have noticed that many users are unable to access Coinbase due to AWS issues. Our team is addressing the problem and will provide updates here. All funds are secure."

AI startup Perplexity has also reported service disruptions. The company's CEO, Aravind Srinivas, stated, "The root cause is an issue with AWS, and we are working to resolve it."
