Venture Global, Inc. (VG) shares plummeted 9.12% during intraday trading on Tuesday, following the release of the company's second-quarter earnings report that showed revenue falling short of analyst expectations.

The LNG producer reported Q2 revenue of $4.58 billion, up 48% from a year earlier, but below the consensus estimate of $4.66 billion. Adjusted EBITDA came in at $2.49 billion, slightly missing the $2.50 billion estimate. While earnings per share of $0.51 beat the forecast of $0.48, the top-line miss and higher operating costs weighed on investor sentiment. Operating expenses rose 15.9% to $2.39 billion, and interest expense jumped 58% to $489 million, partly due to the ramp-up of production at the Plaquemines facility.

Venture Global raised its full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance to $8.7-$9.1 billion, driven by higher expected liquefaction fees and export volumes. However, the near-term revenue miss and elevated costs overshadowed the improved outlook, triggering a sell-off in the stock.
