The sharp rise in Coterra Energy's share price comes as U.S. energy stocks jumped premarket, tracking a surge in crude oil prices following developments in the Middle East war. Brent crude futures rose as much as 13% to $82.37 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude climbed over 12% to an intraday high of $75.33.
Other major energy companies including Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Baker Hughes, and Conocophillips also posted substantial gains ranging from 4.1% to 6.2%, with Coterra Energy among the top performers with its 7.55% increase.
