WeRide Inc. (WERIDE-W) disclosed that it repurchased 540,000 Class A weighted-voting-rights ordinary shares on 8 May 2026 via the Nasdaq Stock Market, paying an aggregate USD 1.33 million. The buyback was executed at prices ranging between USD 2.46 and USD 2.47 per share, translating to a volume-weighted average cost of roughly USD 2.47.
The transaction trimmed WeRide’s outstanding share count (excluding treasury shares) by 0.06% to 948.17 million. Concurrently, treasury shares rose to 24.33 million, while the company’s total issued share capital remained unchanged at 972.51 million.
The purchase forms part of the repurchase mandate approved on 13 March 2026, which authorises the company to buy back up to 102.73 million shares. Cumulative repurchases under this mandate now stand at 24.33 million shares, equivalent to 2.37% of the issued share base at the time the mandate was granted.
As required by Hong Kong listing rules, WeRide is subject to a moratorium on issuing, selling or transferring any shares or treasury shares until 7 June 2026. All repurchases were carried out in compliance with both Hong Kong Stock Exchange regulations and U.S. market rules governing American depositary share transactions.
