EVEREST MED (01952) saw its share price climb more than 5% during morning trading on Wednesday. As of the time of writing, the stock was up 4.73% to HK$32.78, with trading turnover reaching HK$151 million.

The surge came after the company announced on September 3 that China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) had approved the New Drug Application (NDA) for Xintuo (etripamil nasal spray). The drug is indicated for the acute symptomatic treatment of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) in adults, converting the condition to sinus rhythm.

Xintuo had previously received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in December 2025, making it the first and only innovative therapy approved in over 30 years for acute symptomatic episodes of PSVT in adults. With this latest approval in China, the innovative treatment has officially entered the Chinese market, marking the first approved product for EVEREST MED in the cardiovascular disease field.
