During Paris Fashion Week in France, designer Véronique Nichanian appeared to acknowledge the applause following the presentation of the Autumn/Winter 2026-2027 menswear collection she created for Hermès.

Véronique Nichanian, the 71-year-old menswear designer for Hermès, presented her final collection in Paris on Saturday, marking the conclusion of her nearly four-decade leadership of the brand's menswear line, and will soon pass the baton to the emerging British designer, Grace Wales Bonner.

Before the grand show commenced at the Palais Brongniart, R&B superstar Usher was seen warmly conversing with Axel Dumas, the Executive Chairman of Hermès. The guest list for this show was notably more star-studded than usual for Hermès, a brand traditionally known for its understated style and aversion to gimmicky marketing and celebrity endorsements.

On the runway, models wore silk turtlenecks paired with leather trousers, with the overall palette dominated by navy, black, and taupe. Coats in the collection featured leather appliqués and were lined with shearling.

A standout look was a lustrous khaki-colored crocodile skin suit. Nichanian also incorporated classic designs from her past collections, such as a navy blue fine-striped leather suit with visible stitching first introduced in 2003, and a mocha-colored calfskin jumpsuit from 1991. Jackets in orange and yellow injected vibrant accents into the otherwise沉稳 (composed/restrained) aesthetic.

As the show concluded, Nichanian took to the runway for her final bow, receiving a standing ovation from the audience. The front row was filled with notable guests, including fellow designer Paul Smith, rapper Travis Scott, and actors James McAvoy and Chace Crawford.

Hermès announced the appointment of Grace Wales Bonner as her successor last October, making her the first Black female designer to lead a menswear line at a top-tier luxury house. Her debut menswear collection for Hermès is scheduled to be presented next January.
