According to information released on August 3, the Wulagai General Airport project has officially commenced the construction of its runway structure's water-stable layer. The construction site is operating with closely linked processes and efficient progress.

The Wulagai General Airport is classified as an A1-level general airport. Its planned facilities include a 1,200-meter long and 23-meter wide runway, along with supporting infrastructure such as an apron, comprehensive service buildings, living support buildings, a comprehensive garage, and an oil depot. The project also includes the installation of associated networks for water supply, drainage, heating, and electricity distribution.

This project is divided into three main components: ancillary works, airfield works, and building works. Currently, the ancillary works have completed earthwork backfilling and leveling, and the access road's foundation has been filled. The building works have finished their foundation construction, and the airfield works have entered the water-stable layer paving phase. All tasks are progressing in an orderly manner, with the entire project expected to be fully completed by the end of October this year. It is anticipated to be ready for navigation by the end of the year.

As a key public welfare project, the completion of the Wulagai General Airport will enhance the regional transportation network, address shortcomings in comprehensive services, and allow the public to benefit from accessible and convenient public services. Furthermore, it will significantly boost the development of tourism and the low-altitude economy in the Wulagai Management Area.
