WuXi Bio Co., Ltd. (02269) saw its shares rise nearly 6% in early trading, with the stock price gaining 5.70% to HK$43.74 as of press time, and a trading volume of HK$616 million.
On August 7, according to an official WeChat post from WuXi Bio, the company announced an agreement with ChuangSheng Pharma (Kintor Pharma-B) to acquire the process development and manufacturing base located in Hangzhou, China. This base will enhance WuXi Bio's integrated service capabilities to meet the rapidly growing project demands of its clients, with the transaction expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2026.
The facility, spanning over 10,000 square meters, is equipped with capabilities for process development, drug substance production, and drug product manufacturing. Dr. Chen Zhisheng, CEO of WuXi Bio, stated that the acquisition further strengthens WuXi Bio's end-to-end service offerings, covering drug substance development and production as well as drug product manufacturing. As project volumes and commercial demands continue to grow, we will consistently respond to diverse client needs with high quality and efficiency.
