Data from Damai.com shows that during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Jiangsu Province hosted a total of 413 commercial performances, drawing an audience of 374,000 and generating box office revenue of 354 million yuan.

Among these, 16 large-scale performances with audiences of 5,000 or more attracted 334,000 attendees and brought in 340 million yuan in box office revenue, making large-scale events the primary driver of the market.

A number of highly popular concerts landed in Jiangsu, attracting large crowds of tourists traveling across cities to attend, which in turn heated up the hotel accommodation market. Key monitored hotels in multiple areas saw significant revenue growth, with some popular districts experiencing consecutive nights of fully booked rooms.

Taking Nanjing as an example, during the Mid-Autumn holiday, the city hosted 9 large-scale performances including concerts by Jay Chou, Hua Chenyu, and Jane Zhang, with a cumulative audience of 288,000, driving nearly 2.4 billion yuan in other consumption across the city.

Over the three-day Mid-Autumn holiday, the total operating revenue of key monitored hotels in Nanjing grew 22.3% year-on-year, with an average occupancy rate of 73.1%, up 20 percentage points year-on-year.

Relying on well-equipped venues, convenient transportation networks, and a mature consumer base, Jiangsu's performing arts market has formed a considerable market scale. Multiple cities within the province have the hardware conditions to host large-scale performances with audiences of tens of thousands, while accommodation and commercial supporting facilities provide support for hosting major events.

A relevant official from the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism stated that during the National Day holiday, Jiangsu will continue to promote the deep integration of performing arts with cultural tourism, make good use of quality cultural resources, and further unleash the driving effect of the performing arts market on consumption across all sectors.
