Electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian Automotive, Inc. disclosed its production and delivery figures for the second quarter of 2026 on July 2, concurrently revising its annual delivery outlook upward. The company reported manufacturing 12,613 vehicles and delivering 12,194 units in Q2 from its Normal, Illinois facility, surpassing its prior forecast of 9,000 to 11,000 vehicles.

The increase in deliveries was primarily driven by solid sequential growth from the EDV electric commercial van and R1 vehicle lines, supplemented by incremental contributions from the new R2 SUV, which began deliveries in June. Based on the progress in the first half of the year and the outlook for production and deliveries in the second half, Rivian has raised its full-year 2026 delivery guidance to a range of 65,000 to 70,000 vehicles, up from the previous forecast of 62,000 to 67,000 units.

The R2 model is viewed as a pivotal product for Rivian Automotive, Inc. to expand its market share and compete with vehicles like the Tesla Model Y. The vehicle has a starting price of $57,990, with a Premium version priced at $53,990 expected later this year, and a rear-wheel-drive standard version starting at $48,490 slated for early next year.

Rivian Automotive, Inc. also announced that it will release its second-quarter financial results after the market closes on July 30, followed by a conference call at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time that same day to discuss the results and business outlook.
