Shares of diversified manufacturer Dover plummeted 8.87% in pre-market trading on Thursday, following the release of its second-quarter 2026 financial results. The sharp decline came after the company reported quarterly revenue that fell short of Wall Street's expectations.

Dover posted second-quarter revenue of $2.19 billion, representing a 7% increase from the same period last year but missing the analyst consensus estimate of $2.21 billion. The revenue miss overshadowed an otherwise solid earnings performance, with adjusted earnings per share coming in at $2.74, narrowly beating the consensus estimate of $2.73. Despite growth across all five of its business segments, the top-line shortfall was the primary catalyst for the stock's negative reaction.

In a move that partially offset the negative sentiment, Dover raised its full-year adjusted earnings per share guidance to a range of $10.55 to $10.75, up from the prior outlook of $10.45 to $10.65. The company cited a strong order book and noted that bookings outpaced shipments during the quarter as order rate momentum continues to accelerate. Full-year revenue growth is projected at 6% to 8%.
