Residents in Kunming should fill up their tanks now, as a significant fuel price hike is imminent. The 18th adjustment of fuel prices this year will take place at 24:00 on September 11, and it is expected to surge by nearly 0.3 yuan per liter.

Following the previous increase of over 0.29 yuan per liter, 2026 has seen fuel prices rise 11 times so far, with only 5 decreases. In the first eight months of this year, prices have already soared by more than 1.32 yuan per liter. With international crude oil prices continuing to climb by over 3.25% at this morning's close, today's projected increase has widened further.

Due to the ongoing strength in international oil prices, the crude oil change rate has hit 5.89%, and prices are projected to rise by 330 yuan per ton. Based on this trend, gasoline and diesel prices are expected to increase by 0.25 to 0.30 yuan per liter tomorrow evening. With less than 48 hours to go before the hike, September 12 will see the new, higher prices take effect.

After tomorrow's increase, 95-octane gasoline will be edging closer to the 9-yuan era. In most regions, the price has already reached 8.60 yuan per liter following the last adjustment. With another rise of nearly 0.3 yuan per liter, the day after tomorrow will bring 95-octane prices dangerously close to the "9-yuan threshold."

(Note: The projected increase is based on institutional estimates; the final adjustment will be subject to official announcements.)
