The board of TOP EDUCATION (01752) has disclosed a potential information security incident, with investigations currently underway to determine the extent of any data breach. On August 5, 2026, the company became aware of a news report indicating that a threat actor had claimed on an underground forum to possess certain records allegedly linked to students enrolled in the group's educational programs.

Upon learning of this suspected event, the company immediately launched an investigation to assess whether any unauthorized access or leakage of personal data had occurred, as claimed. If such a breach is confirmed, the inquiry will also examine the nature and scope of the unauthorized access, the categories of potentially affected data, the root cause of the incident, and the security status of the group's systems and servers.

In line with the progress of its investigation, the company will take appropriate further actions. It has already notified the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency and the Australian Cyber Security Centre about the suspected incident. Following further legal advice, TOP EDUCATION will adopt suitable measures and, where necessary, inform other relevant bodies to ensure all responsibilities are met, while proactively cooperating with and assisting any inquiries or investigations.

The company remains committed to protecting student data and privacy through regular reviews and enhancements of its information security and cybersecurity measures. It will continue to assess any potential operational and financial impacts of the suspected event. Based on currently available information, as of the date of this announcement, the suspected incident has not caused any material disruption to the group's operations.
