On the afternoon of January 9, it was announced that the Ministry of Education has recently released the list of recipients for the 2025 Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award (Natural Sciences and Engineering Technology). Two projects where Ant Group's Alipay (Hangzhou) Information Technology Co., Ltd. served as a primary completing unit, namely "Key Technologies and Applications of Knowledge Graphs in Complex Semantic Scenarios" and "Key Technologies and Applications for Cross-Boundary Integration of Complex Service Systems," were each awarded the first prize for Engineering Technology Research Achievement. It is understood that these two achievements represent a significant manifestation of Ant Group's long-term investment in the fields of artificial intelligence and complex systems; one enables machines to comprehend the world, while the other breaks down data and service silos, both overcoming core challenges in the large-scale industrial application of AI technology. This award, established by the Ministry of Education, operates on a nomination system, with nominations and selections occurring every three years, and is considered the highest scientific research honor bestowed by the Ministry.
