Pro Medicus Ltd (PME.AU) saw its shares surge 6.93% during intraday trading on Wednesday, following the company's announcement of a significant share repurchase program.
The medical imaging software provider revealed plans to buy back up to AU$10.4 million worth of its ordinary, fully-paid shares through an on-market repurchase program. The buyback initiative is set to commence immediately and will continue until March 31, 2027.
Share buyback programs typically signal management's confidence in the company's financial health and future prospects, while reducing the number of shares outstanding can potentially increase earnings per share for remaining shareholders.
