Canadian Solar Jumps 9%; Gold and Silver Stocks Rise; Memory-Chip Stocks Drop; Coupang Sinks 9%

Canadian Solar, a major solar panel manufacturer, is transferring the assets of its Chinese unit to Canadian ownership, to safeguard sales into the US as Washington steps up scrutiny of imports from the Asian nation. Canadian Solar shares jumped 9% in premarket trading.

Gold and silver stocks rose in premarket trading as Silver jumped more than 2% to a record high. Hecla Mining rose 4%; Coeur Mining rose 3%; Barrick Mining and Kinross rose 2%. First Majestic Silver rose 3%; Endeavour Silver, Pan American Silver, and Fortuna Silver Mines rose 2%.

Memory-chip stocks dropped in premarket trading. SanDisk fell 3%; Western Digital fell 2%; Seagate and Micron Technology fell 1%.

Li Auto delivered 33,181 vehicles in November, marking a 31.92 percent year-on-year decline and the sixth consecutive month of year-on-year contraction. The shares fell 1.5% in premarket trading.

South Korea's biggest online retailer, Coupang, apologised on Sunday over the breach of personal information from 33.7 million customer accounts through unauthorized data access. Coupang shares sank 8.7% in premarket trading.
