On March 21, Lei Jun, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi Corp., addressed a recent statement via a Weibo post. He responded to comments made regarding the calculation "60 plus 60 equals 120." Lei Jun stated, "During the product launch event, while explaining the 'relative speed 120km/h collision,' I misspoke by adding an extra comment, saying 'it is equivalent to hitting a wall at 120km/h.' This was indeed an incorrect statement. I appreciate netizens for pointing this out."

Previously, on the evening of March 19, Xiaomi Corp. unveiled its new generation SU7 model. Lei Jun's analogy that "if two cars are each traveling at 60 km/h, the relative speed is 120 km/h, which is equivalent to driving at 120 km/h into a wall, and the collision energy is 1.44 times that of standard test conditions," sparked discussions concerning vehicle safety.

It was reported that the starting price for the new Xiaomi Corp. SU7 is 219,900 yuan. The company revealed that orders for 15,000 units were locked within 34 minutes of the sale opening. On March 21, in a Q&A session, Xiaomi Corp. indicated that the progress of order locks for the new SU7 has been consistently better than that of the first-generation model since sales began.

Xiaomi Corp. stated, "We did not release data on 'large deposits' on the night of the launch event but instead directly disclosed the 'order lock' figures. In fact, starting from the day after the YU7 was released last June, we have chosen to announce the number of 'order locks' rather than 'large deposits.' This is because the non-refundable 'order lock' data more accurately and objectively reflects user choice and recognition. We are highly focused on the continuous improvement and optimization of the user purchase experience to ensure that customers who lock in their orders can receive their vehicles sooner."
