YOFC (06869) fell nearly 4% again, dropping 3.61% to HK$33.62 by the time of writing, with a turnover of HK$104 million. The company recently reported its financial results, with Q3 revenue reaching RMB 3.891 billion, up 16.27% year-on-year and 11.46% quarter-on-quarter. However, net profit attributable to shareholders declined 10.89% year-on-year to RMB 174 million, though it rose 20.75% quarter-on-quarter. For the first nine months, revenue totaled RMB 10.275 billion, an 18.18% year-on-year increase, while net profit attributable to shareholders fell 18.02% to RMB 470 million.
UBS recently released a research note stating that current market sentiment has already priced in YOFC's high-margin data communication business growth potential and initial optimism around hollow-core fiber, leaving limited upside. The report acknowledged hollow-core fiber's long-term potential, projecting that the technology will mature over the next 2-3 years and contribute meaningfully to revenue. While it serves as a strategic growth lever for the group, UBS believes its short-term impact on profitability remains limited.
