US Deploys Special Operations Aircraft and Personnel to Caribbean, Oil Market on Alert

The US has reportedly deployed additional special operations forces to the Caribbean in preparation for potential military action against Venezuela.

According to reports, multiple special operations aircraft have been sent to the region, along with US military personnel and equipment, escalating pressure on the Venezuelan government.

US officials and public flight tracking data indicate this is the latest move by the Trump administration to intensify pressure on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

On Tuesday, crude oil prices continued their rebound, with WTI crude rising above $58 per barrel, marking at least a two-week high and gaining nearly 6% over five sessions. Safe-haven demand also pushed spot gold higher, nearing $4,500 per ounce.

In recent months, the US has deployed warships near Venezuela under the pretext of "anti-drug operations," further pressuring the country. President Trump has repeatedly threatened to launch a land-based strike against Venezuelan "drug traffickers" soon.

A US media report on the 19th quoted Trump as saying he does not rule out the possibility of war with Venezuela. Venezuela has accused the US of attempting to instigate regime change through military threats and expanding its military presence in Latin America.

**Large-Scale Mobilization of US Special Operations Forces**

A US official stated that at least 10 CV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft arrived in the region Monday night from Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico.

Flight tracking data showed C-17 transport aircraft from Fort Stewart and Fort Campbell Army bases also landed in Puerto Rico on Monday. Another US official confirmed these aircraft carried military personnel and equipment.

The specific units and types of equipment transported remain unclear. Retired US Air Force Lieutenant General David Deptula commented:

"The movement of such assets suggests the government has decided to take action—the question is what objective it aims to achieve."

Cannon Air Force Base hosts the 27th Special Operations Wing, while Fort Campbell is home to the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment and the 101st Airborne Division.

The 27th Special Operations Wing and the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment specialize in high-risk infiltration, extraction, and close air support missions.

**Blockade and Military Buildup Intensify**

The Trump administration has increasingly ramped up pressure on Maduro.

Last week, the US Coast Guard began seizing oil tankers near Venezuela in an attempt to cut off a key revenue source for the Maduro regime.

Simultaneously, the US has been reinforcing its firepower in the region, deploying an F-35A fighter squadron, EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft, and HH-60W rescue helicopters.

These forces join a fleet that includes five destroyers, an aircraft carrier strike group, and a Marine amphibious ready group.

The Venezuelan government condemned the US seizure of oil tankers as outright theft and accused Trump of seeking regime change to exploit the country's natural resources.
