China's Industrial Power Generation Rises 7.9% YoY in October to 800.2 Billion kWh

China's industrial power generation saw accelerated growth in October, with above-scale industrial enterprises generating 800.2 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), marking a 7.9% year-on-year increase—6.4 percentage points faster than September's growth rate. The daily average output reached 25.81 billion kWh. From January to October, total power generation reached 8.06 trillion kWh, up 2.3% year-on-year.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported steady energy production growth in October, with coal output remaining at high levels while crude oil and natural gas production expanded steadily.

**Coal, Crude Oil, and Natural Gas Production** - **Coal**: October output stood at 410 million metric tons, down 2.3% YoY, with a daily average of 13.12 million tons. Cumulative output for January-October reached 3.97 billion tons, up 1.5% YoY. - **Crude Oil**: Production rose 1.3% YoY to 18 million tons in October, slowing by 2.8 percentage points from September. Daily output averaged 581,000 tons. Year-to-date production reached 180.64 million tons, up 1.7% YoY. - **Oil Processing**: Refineries processed 63.43 million tons of crude in October, up 6.4% YoY, averaging 2.046 million tons daily. Cumulative processing volume for the first ten months hit 614.24 million tons, up 4.0% YoY. - **Natural Gas**: Output grew 5.9% YoY to 22.1 billion cubic meters in October, slowing by 3.5 percentage points from September. Daily output averaged 710 million cubic meters. Total January-October production rose 6.3% YoY to 217 billion cubic meters.

**Power Generation Breakdown** Thermal power rebounded to a 7.3% YoY increase in October (from a 5.4% decline in September). Hydropower grew 28.2% (slowing by 3.7 percentage points), nuclear power rose 4.2% (accelerating by 2.6 percentage points), while wind power output fell 11.9% (widening the decline by 4.3 percentage points). Solar power generation increased 5.9%, though growth slowed by 15.2 percentage points from September.
