Li Ka-shing Donates to Hong Kong Fire Relief Efforts

On the afternoon of November 26, a severe fire broke out in multiple residential buildings at Hung Fuk Court in Tai Po, Hong Kong, resulting in significant casualties. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government and various sectors of society have mobilized efforts for firefighting, search and rescue operations, medical treatment for the injured, and post-disaster support.

According to the latest data released by the Hong Kong Fire Services Department on November 27, the Tai Po fire has claimed 44 lives and left 45 injured. The Li Ka-shing Foundation announced an immediate donation of HKD 30 million to establish an emergency relief fund, supporting registered charitable organizations. An additional HKD 50 million will be allocated for follow-up community recovery efforts.

The Red Cross Society of China has donated RMB 2 million to the Hong Kong Red Cross for emergency rescue and humanitarian aid, with further support to be provided as needed.

Tencent Foundation pledged an initial HKD 10 million for urgent relief, temporary housing, essential supplies, and psychological support for affected residents. The foundation will continue monitoring the situation and collaborate with partners to assist recovery.

The Jack Ma Foundation contributed HKD 30 million to aid affected families and individuals, including financial assistance for firefighters and emergency responders who risked their lives.

Lei Jun, founder and CEO of Xiaomi, announced via social media that the Xiaomi Foundation donated HKD 10 million for emergency relief, expressing condolences for the victims and hopes for recovery.

Ant Group and AlipayHK jointly donated HKD 10 million for emergency aid and transitional support. AlipayHK also launched a dedicated donation channel for public contributions.

ByteDance (Hong Kong) pledged HKD 10 million for emergency relief and community rebuilding. Alibaba Group allocated HKD 20 million for fire rescue, transitional housing, supplies, and counseling, while its logistics arm, Cainiao, mobilized emergency resources for distribution.

ANTA Group donated HKD 30 million (including HKD 10 million in cash and HKD 20 million in cold-weather gear) for emergency shelter and basic necessities.

Chow Tai Fok Group contributed HKD 20 million for immediate assistance, offering temporary accommodation, food, clothing, and daily essentials. The group also initiated an employee fundraising campaign.

361° pledged HKD 15 million in cash and equipment to support rescue and resettlement efforts.

Multiple corporations and foundations have stepped forward to aid recovery, reflecting solidarity in the face of tragedy.
