Northrop Grumman signed two agreements on Monday totaling $3 billion to accelerate the production of missile interceptors.

The defense contractor announced on Monday that it has finalized two multi-year framework agreements with the Pentagon and Lockheed Martin to manufacture additional munitions technology.

Under a $2 billion framework deal, Northrop will supply components for U.S. air and missile defense, including solid rocket motors and ignition safety devices.

A second $1 billion agreement will enable Northrop to significantly increase monthly deliveries of Terminal High Altitude Area Defense components over the next seven years.

As weapons stockpiles dwindle amid the Iran conflict, the U.S. has entered into several similar pacts with other contractors.

Amid escalating tensions last week, government officials have been discussing how to address the impact of reduced ammunition reserves in the Middle East war.

Last week, L3Harris announced it would triple production of missile defense propulsion systems as part of a new seven-year deal with the Pentagon.

In June, the U.S. government awarded Lockheed Martin a contract worth up to $35 billion to manufacture hundreds of missile interceptors annually.
