ANTA Sports (02020) surged more than 3% in early trading, last up 2.77% at HK$74.10 with turnover reaching HK$154 million.
The company plans to hold a board meeting on August 26 to approve its interim results. In its previously released second-quarter operating data, the ANTA brand's retail sales grew by a low single-digit percentage year-on-year, FILA brand retail sales also increased by a low single-digit percentage, while all other brands saw retail sales jump 25%-30%.
SPDB International issued a research note stating that both core brands' sales performance in Q2 outpaced industry peers, while other brands maintained rapid growth as the multi-brand strategy continues to deepen. Based on first-half sales trends across brands, the firm projects overall revenue growth of approximately 13% year-on-year for the first half. Stable retail discounts across the two main brands, combined with ongoing improvements in the overall brand mix, are expected to offset the negative impact from consolidating Jack Wolfskin, with the firm anticipating stable or slightly improved gross margins in the first half.
