In a move to implement national reforms for modernizing vocational education and to carry out the "Vocational Chain Qingdao" action plan for empowering the "10+1" innovative industrial system, Qingdao Engineering Vocational College, as the leading higher vocational institution for the intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry chain, has recently signed a school-enterprise cooperation agreement with the chain leader enterprise, Faw Jiefang Group Co.,Ltd. (FAW Jiefang) Qingdao Automobile Co., Ltd., to establish a "State-Owned Enterprise Order Class."

This signing marks a significant outcome in responding to the "one chain, one policy" requirement for aligning industry and education, leveraging the collaborative mechanism of "three group heads" (chain leader enterprise, leading institution, and industry organization leader) to promote customized training models such as order classes and apprenticeships.

The two parties will engage in deep cooperation around cultivating skilled talent, practical training internships, and employment placement, aiming to create a new paradigm for high-skilled talent development characterized by "enrollment as employment, learning as working, graduation as job placement, and employment as staying in Qingdao." This initiative is designed to precisely meet the talent demands of Qingdao's "10+1" innovative industrial system, particularly within the intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry chain.

According to the agreement, the collaboration will establish an Electrician Class and a Vehicle Assembly Class for students enrolled from 2025 to 2028 at Qingdao Engineering Vocational College, with 70 students per cohort. The Electrician Class, focusing on equipment maintenance, will primarily recruit students from majors such as Mechatronics, Electrical Automation, and Industrial Robotics, training 30 individuals per cohort. The Vehicle Assembly Class, targeting vehicle debugging and inspection positions, will cover students from majors including Automotive Detection and Maintenance Technology, New Energy Vehicle Detection and Maintenance Technology, Automotive Technology Service and Marketing, and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technology, training 40 individuals per cohort.

Upon graduation, students from the order classes who meet the assessment requirements will be directly employed by Faw Jiefang Group Co.,Ltd. and incorporated into the state-owned enterprise's formal staffing structure.

The two sides will build a full-chain collaborative education mechanism. During the enrollment phase, FAW Jiefang will conduct written tests and interviews on campus to ensure fairness and impartiality in the selection process. During the training phase, the enterprise will deeply participate in curriculum revision, dispatch technical experts to teach on campus, and integrate Qingdao Engineering Vocational College teachers into the enterprise's practical training system to synchronize teaching content with the iteration of industrial technology. During the internship phase, students will enter the enterprise for a one-year on-the-job internship, enjoying comprehensive labor protection and internship remuneration.

The agreement specifically requires students in the Electrician Class to obtain a low-voltage electrician certificate, while students in the Vehicle Assembly Class must acquire a Class B or higher driver's license, fully aligning with the qualification standards for positions within the state-owned enterprise.

Relevant personnel from the college's Admissions, Employment, and School-Enterprise Cooperation Office stated that this collaboration is a crucial milestone for the college, as the leading higher vocational institution for the intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry chain, in serving Qingdao's "10+1" innovative industrial system and implementing the "Vocational Chain Qingdao" action.

The order class will integrate the technical standards, new processes, and new specifications of Faw Jiefang Group Co.,Ltd. into the entire talent cultivation process, supplying the chain leader enterprise with skilled personnel who are "ready to use, willing to stay, and capable of good development," while simultaneously building a "direct express" for high-quality employment for students, truly achieving the organic integration of the education chain, talent chain, industry chain, and innovation chain.

As the chain leader enterprise for Qingdao's intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry chain, Mao Zhendong, head of the Human Resources Department at Faw Jiefang Group Co.,Ltd. Qingdao Automobile Co., Ltd., expressed that the enterprise will fully leverage the resource advantages of a state-owned enterprise to jointly explore an integrated "industry-education-research-application" talent development path with Qingdao Engineering Vocational College.

The order class will be developed into a benchmark project for regional industry-education integration, providing solid talent support for Qingdao's hundred-billion-yuan commercial vehicle industry ecosystem and the "10+1" innovative industrial system.
