Apple's First Foldable iPhone Ultra Faces Uncertain Launch Timeline as Foxconn Adjusts Production Lines

Industry publication Digitimes reported yesterday (July 23) that the final release date for Apple's first foldable phone remains unclear.

Regarding the launch timing of this foldable device, rumors are currently divided. Some reports suggest delays due to complex product assembly and low yield rates, while others claim that Foxconn has initiated large-scale recruitment, indicating the first foldable iPhone is already in mass production.

According to supply chain sources, Apple has set extremely high quality control standards for the iPhone Ultra. Foxconn Technology Co., Ltd. is actively cooperating with Apple to make "final mass production adjustments" to the manufacturing process.

It remains unclear when these adjustments will be completed. However, citing industry insiders, the media outlet noted that the required engineering verification process could cause delays of up to two months, with a key focus on resolving screen crease and hinge issues. As a result, the iPhone Ultra may not be released alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series this September.
