Suzhou Novosense Microelectronics (Novosense) reported a strong rebound for the six months ended 30 June 2026, moving from a loss to a net profit on the back of a sharp surge in sales.
Financial performance • Revenue climbed 66.7% year on year to RMB 2.54 billion, fuelled by broad-based demand across automotive, energy & industrial automation, and consumer electronics markets. • Gross profit rose 48.4% to RMB 0.74 billion; gross margin slipped 3.6 ppts to 29.3% as higher raw-material costs outpaced revenue growth. • Operating profit reached RMB 75.80 million versus a RMB 75.88 million loss a year earlier. Net profit turned positive at RMB 65.06 million (H1 2025: RMB 78.01 million loss). • Basic EPS recovered to RMB 0.42 from a loss of RMB 0.55.
Segment highlights • Signal Chain Chips remained the largest contributor, up 72.6% to RMB 1.01 billion and accounting for 39.8% of total sales. • Power Management Chips grew 69.3% to RMB 0.88 billion (34.6% share). • Sensor Products advanced 55.6% to RMB 0.64 billion (25.3% share).
Expense trends • Selling & marketing expenses increased 27.9% to RMB 140.62 million but fell to 5.5% of revenue (–1.7 ppts). • Administrative expenses rose 21.8% to RMB 174.43 million, representing 6.9% of revenue (–2.5 ppts). • R&D spending grew 23.5% to RMB 446.33 million, or 17.6% of revenue (–6.1 ppts).
Cash flow and balance sheet • Operating cash outflow widened to RMB 710.48 million, driven by higher working-capital needs and staff costs. • Net cash used in investing totalled RMB 50.10 million, reflecting RMB 347.23 million for capex and RMB 135.03 million for associate investments, partly offset by proceeds from financial asset disposals. • Financing activities generated RMB 667.20 million, mainly from new bank borrowings and HKEX over-allotment proceeds. • Cash and equivalents stood at RMB 2.30 billion, down 6.7% from end-2025; interest-bearing borrowings rose to RMB 1.58 billion. • Gearing ratio increased to 26.2% from 21.3%.
Operational and strategic developments • Automotive electronics shipments reached 534 million units, while cumulative automotive shipments topped 1.95 billion units. • The company launched next-generation digital isolators, SiC and GaN driver solutions, and real-time control MCUs; over 4,200 product models are now available. • H1 R&D headcount rose 20% to 704 employees; average remuneration edged up 0.9% to RMB 443,000. • Novosense repurchased 521,686 A Shares for RMB 87.34 million, intended for future employee incentives, and held 1.37 million treasury shares at period-end.
No interim dividend was declared. Novosense plans to deepen investment in technology platforms, expand overseas sales networks, and secure long-term manufacturing capacity in the second half of 2026.
