Wilmar International Limited announced that it has been included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index for the fifth consecutive year as of May, 4 2026, remaining the only Singapore-based company in the Food Products category represented in both the global and Asia Pacific benchmarks.
The group recorded an overall Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) score of 68 out of 100 in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2025, placing it in the 92nd percentile of its peer group. Wilmar’s individual scores were 79 for Environmental, 61 for Social and 60 for Governance, all above the industry averages of 37, 34 and 35 respectively.
Wilmar reported several 2025 sustainability milestones, including validation of near- and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative, designating nearly 33,000 hectares of oil palm and sugar plantations as conservation land and confirming that all employees and contractors receive a living wage. The company also achieved a perfect score in the Global Child Forum Global Benchmark 2025 for the fourth consecutive year and exceeded its board gender diversity target with 31% female representation.
The Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices—renamed from the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices in February 2025—serve as global sustainability benchmarks first launched in 1999. Wilmar has been listed in the Asia Pacific Index since 2020 and in the World Index since 2021, and it is also a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index.
