The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Science and Technology Division released the draft National Brain-Computer Interface Industry Standards System Construction Guidelines (2026 Edition) on August 24.
The proposal outlines a target of developing or revising over 40 brain-computer interface standards by 2028, with participation in creating more than 10 international standards and driving over 100 enterprises to engage in standards promotion and implementation.
By 2030, the cumulative number of standards developed is expected to exceed 80, with a largely established standards system that continuously strengthens China's global participation and industrial contribution in the brain-computer interface sector.
