Two new oil barge vessels, named "Sino-Korea Petrochemical 6 Oil Barge" and "Sino-Korea Petrochemical 7 Oil Barge," have been delivered as part of the upgrade and enhancement project for berths 4-7 at the Sino-Korea (Wuhan) Petrochemical Co., Ltd. terminal. This delivery marks a critical advancement in the construction of Central China's first 10,000-ton steel pontoon floating oil and gas terminal.

The two delivered oil barges were constructed by Hubei Jiangrun Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., with construction inspection carried out by the Huangshi Office of the Wuhan Branch of China Classification Society (CCS). The "Sino-Korea Petrochemical 6 Oil Barge" has a length of 80 meters and can accommodate 5,000-ton liquid cargo vessels. The "Sino-Korea Petrochemical 7 Oil Barge" measures 92 meters in length and is capable of berthing 10,000-ton liquid cargo vessels. Both vessels are equipped to handle the transfer of multiple types of products, including diesel, gasoline, naphtha, aviation kerosene, crude oil, octane, and methanol. They are also fitted with dual-purpose water/foam cannons for external firefighting, enhancing both operational utility and safety.

According to the project construction manager, once the terminal becomes operational, it will significantly improve logistics transfer efficiency. The unloading cycle for raw materials arriving at the port is expected to be shortened by 30%, while oil and gas loading and unloading efficiency will increase by 40% compared to the original berths. Safety warning response speed will improve by 75%, and the annual throughput capacity for refined oil products will be elevated to 2 million tons.
