BANKCOMM FY2025 Net Profit Up 2.18% to RMB95.62 Billion; Asset Quality and CET1 Ratio Improve

BANKCOMM released its audited FY2025 results (IFRS basis). Net profit attributable to shareholders rose 2.18% year-on-year to RMB95.62 billion, driven by both interest and fee income gains.

• Revenue mix – Net operating income increased 2.05% to RMB265.60 billion. – Net interest income edged up 1.91% to RMB173.08 billion; net interest margin narrowed 7 bps to 1.20%. – Net fee and commission income grew 3.44% to RMB38.18 billion, underpinned by wealth-management and agency businesses.

• Profitability & efficiency – Profit before tax rose 0.28% to RMB103.76 billion. – ROE slipped to 8.38% (2024: 9.08%); ROA fell to 0.63% (2024: 0.65%). – Cost-to-income ratio improved 60 bps to 29.30%.

• Balance-sheet expansion – Total assets reached RMB15.55 trillion, up 4.35%. – Customer loans grew 6.64% to RMB9.12 trillion, led by corporate lending (+8.57%). – Customer deposits rose 5.77% to RMB9.31 trillion; time deposits accounted for 67.38% (↑2.40 ppts).

• Credit quality – Non-performing loan ratio declined 3 bps to 1.28%. – Provision coverage strengthened to 208.38% (↑6.44 ppts). – Credit impairment charges totalled RMB54.55 billion, up 3.77%.

• Capital & liquidity – CET1 ratio improved to 11.43% (2024: 10.24%); Tier 1 ratio 12.70%; total capital adequacy ratio 15.96%. – Average Q4 liquidity coverage ratio stood at 123.02%; net stable funding ratio 110.38% at year-end.

• Dividend proposal The Board recommends a cash dividend of RMB0.1684 per share (before tax), amounting to RMB14.88 billion, subject to shareholder approval on 26 June 2026. Payment to H-shareholders is slated for 14 August 2026.

• Share capital & major shareholders Total ordinary shares outstanding increased to 88.36 billion following the June 2025 private placement of 14.10 billion A-shares, with the Ministry of Finance holding 29.86% and HSBC 16.00%.

• Outlook Management targets further credit optimisation toward tech, green, inclusive, ageing and digital finance (“five priorities”), while maintaining prudent risk controls and capital discipline as the bank enters the first year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026).
