Intel shares gained another 2.3% in overnight trading after jumping 5.5% on Friday. US President Donald Trump sealed a deal that give the US government a nearly 10% stake in Intel Corp., part of an unconventional bid to reinvigorate the beleaguered company and boost domestic chip manufacturing.
US-listed shares of NIO jumped another 6% in overnight trading. The shares surged 14.4% on Friday.
Crypto stocks mixed in overnight trading. Ether surged to a record last week for the first time in almost four years, with the second-largest cryptocurrency benefiting from a renewal in demand after long being touted as a more adaptable alternative to the crypto market leader Bitcoin. ETHZilla Corporation rose 9%; DeFi Dev and Upexi rose 3%; BitMine Immersion Technologies rose 2%; TeraWulf rose 1%; while GameSquare fell 6%; Hut 8, Riot Platforms, CEA Industries, and CleanSpark fell 3%; Strategy, MARA Holdings, and Bullish fell 2%; Coinbase fell 1%.
President Donald Trump said the US is conducting a “major Tariff Investigation on Furniture coming into the United States,” setting the stage for industry-specific levies. Shares of furniture retailers tumbled in overnight trading. Wayfair and RH fell about 6%.
Verint shares jumped 17.6% in overnight trading. Buyout firm Thoma Bravo is nearing a deal to acquire call center software maker Verint Systems Inc., according to people familiar with the matter. The deal would value Verint at about $2 billion, including debt, said the people, who asked to not be identified discussing private information.
