LEGEND UPSTAR (00459) announced that Newbury Financial Services Limited (Newbury), a licensed corporation authorized under the Securities and Futures Ordinance to conduct Type 1 (dealing in securities) and Type 6 (advising on corporate finance) regulated activities, has been appointed as the independent financial advisor. Newbury will provide advice to the independent board committee, comprising all independent non-executive directors (namely Mr. Sha Bao, Mr. Wong Chung Kwong, and Mr. Li Weiqiang), regarding the proposed transaction and scheme. The appointment of Newbury as the independent financial advisor has been approved by the independent board committee in accordance with Rule 2.1 of the Takeovers Code.
