Global Cloud Giants Set to Boost Spending by 90% This Year, TrendForce Predicts

The world's nine largest cloud service providers (CSPs) are maintaining high capital expenditure levels, channeling substantial funds into computing infrastructure to meet the growing demand for artificial intelligence, according to TrendForce.

The research firm estimates that the combined capital spending of Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Oracle, Alibaba, Baidu, ByteDance, and Tencent will exceed $886.7 billion (approximately ¥5.99 trillion) this year, marking a 90% year-on-year increase. By 2027, this figure is expected to rise another 49% on the high base to reach $1.32 trillion (approximately ¥8.92 trillion).

Driven by several key factors—including increased willingness among US hyperscale CSPs and Tier-2 data centers to adopt NVIDIA rack-scale solutions, the ramp-up of new-generation AI ASICs from Google and Amazon AWS in the second half of the year, and the accelerated adoption of domestic products by Chinese companies—TrendForce has revised its forecast for AI server shipment growth in 2026. The firm now expects a 31% increase, up from its previous estimate of 28%.
