On February 4, China Merchants Bank issued a notice regarding the adjustment of its SMS notification service for account activity on its OneCard and OneNetPass accounts. The bank stated that to further enhance the customer service experience and reduce unnecessary SMS disturbances, it will modify the rules for the account activity SMS alert service, with specific arrangements detailed below.

Effective March 16, 2026, the bank will optimize its account activity SMS notification service. Following the adjustment, for customers who have not activated the account activity SMS notification service, the bank will no longer send SMS alerts for incoming remittance transactions processed through the People's Bank of China's large and small value payment systems that are 5,000 yuan (inclusive) or less.

China Merchants Bank indicated that if customers wish to stay promptly informed about account activity, they can activate the account activity SMS notification service via the CM Bank app, personal online banking for PC, or at branch outlets. Alternatively, customers can enable the free Message Center feature through the CM Bank app.
