Inner Mongolia CPI Rises 1.2% Year-on-Year in December 2025

On January 14, data obtained from the Inner Mongolia Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics revealed that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Inner Mongolia increased by 1.2% year-on-year in December 2025.

Specifically, the consumer price index for urban areas rose by 1.4% year-on-year, while the index for rural areas increased by 0.6%; food prices climbed by 2.7%, and non-food prices went up by 0.9%; prices for consumer goods advanced by 1.6%, and prices for services increased by 0.5%.

Analyzing the year-on-year price changes for various categories of goods and services, prices for food, tobacco, and alcohol rose by 1.9%, apparel prices increased by 1.2%, housing costs edged up by 0.2%, and prices for household items and services grew by 2.3%.

In contrast, prices for transportation and communication fell by 2.8%, prices for education, culture, and entertainment remained flat, healthcare costs increased by 1.7%, and prices for other goods and services surged by 21.3%.

Furthermore, in December 2025, the Industrial Producer Price Index (PPI) in Inner Mongolia decreased by 4.7% compared to the same period last year.

Among the 29 major industrial sectors surveyed, prices increased year-on-year in 8 sectors, declined in 19 sectors, and remained unchanged in 2 sectors.

Categorized by use of production materials, the ex-factory price for means of production fell by 5.0% year-on-year, while the price for means of livelihood dropped by 1.9%.
