Shares of CATL (03750) climbed nearly 4% in Hong Kong trading, with the stock up 3.74% to HK$652.5 at the time of writing, recording a turnover of HK$438 million. The rally comes after VNET Group announced via its official WeChat account that the two companies have formally inked a strategic cooperation agreement. Prior to this, CATL-related parties had taken a strategic stake in VNET, establishing a solid capital foundation for their collaboration.
This latest agreement marks a pivotal milestone in the relationship between the two firms, signifying a formal transition from capital ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership centered on computing-power synergy and innovation. The partners aim to jointly seize the historic opportunity presented by the integration of computing and electricity, making deep convergence their primary focus. They will work together to define industry technical standards and innovative business models, leveraging green direct current and direct green power connections as the core infrastructure. The initiative will build a three-tier computing-power system comprising "gigawatt-level computing-power plants, distributed computing-power networks, and a zero-carbon token ecosystem," ultimately creating a nationwide and globally-reaching network for computing-power synergy.
