With the widespread adoption of the internet, minors have increasingly more opportunities to go online, and risks such as cyber fraud, privacy leaks, and harmful online information are gradually affecting younger age groups. To firmly advance the "Protecting Seedlings Campaign" and the "Anti-Pornography and Anti-Illegal Publications" initiative, align with the educational theme of National Cybersecurity Awareness Week, and effectively reinforce the cybersecurity defense line for minors while comprehensively boosting their cybersecurity awareness and self-protection capabilities, the Nantong Chongchuan Economic Development Zone organized a themed educational activity under the banner of "Protecting Seedlings with Growth, Cybersecurity Guards Young Hearts." This initiative allowed children to immerse themselves in cybersecurity knowledge within a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, building a comprehensive protective barrier for minors online.

At the start of the event, cybersecurity volunteers from Taiping Community launched a dedicated mini-lecture for Cybersecurity Awareness Week. Tailored to the online habits of minors, the volunteers used straightforward, lively language, supplemented with cartoon images and fun animated videos, to intuitively teach children basic cybersecurity knowledge. Focusing on the key priorities of the awareness week, the session highlighted core safety measures such as not casually revealing personal details like names, home addresses, or contact information, avoiding unknown links, and steering clear of inappropriate websites. The classroom also featured an interactive Q&A segment, where questions were posed around everyday online risks and children eagerly raised their hands to answer. Through this engaging back-and-forth, the youngsters quickly memorized essential cybersecurity concepts, truly embedding the knowledge into their minds.

During the hands-on crafting segment, children delved into creating cybersecurity-themed button collage art. Under patient volunteer guidance, they unleashed their imagination and creativity, carefully gluing, decorating, and shaping vibrant buttons along the outlines of cybersecurity-themed designs to complete their unique projects. Throughout the process, the children helped each other, exchanged ideas, and progressed together, effectively honing their hands-on skills and innovative thinking. Moreover, through the act of creation itself, they deepened their understanding and retention of cybersecurity symbols and safe internet practices, quietly planting the seeds of cybersecurity awareness in their hearts.

Volunteers also carefully selected cybersecurity-themed picture books suited for younger readers, guiding the children through immersive readings of engaging safety stories. Using vivid plotlines and richly colored illustrations, they explained in an accessible way the importance of protecting online privacy and taught proper responses to risks such as cyber fraud, exposure to harmful information, and online harassment. After the reading session, the children enthusiastically raised their hands to share their reflections and the healthy surfing and safety tips they had learned, consolidating their knowledge through interaction. This approach also sparked their initiative to actively learn about cybersecurity and embrace civilized online behavior.

This event leveraged the opportunity of National Cybersecurity Awareness Week to innovate the safety education model for minors, blending cybersecurity instruction into fun-filled experiences to achieve learning through play and understanding through reflection. Moving forward, the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone will continue to implement "Protecting Seedlings" initiatives, regularly conducting diverse educational and practical activities to safeguard the healthy and happy growth of young people.
