Expectations for the resumption of production at Guinea's newly established Nimba Mining SA continue to strengthen. The company was reorganized based on the former Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC) and features complete infrastructure with well-stocked port facilities and bauxite inventory exceeding one million tons, along with an annual production capacity of over 14 million tons.
Recently, the company welcomed new General Manager Patrice L'huilier, which may signal a prelude to production restart. Reports indicate the company is seeking downstream buyers to sell port inventory, while the actual mine restart may occur in October.
