AIA Group Reports 13% Increase in First Quarter New Business Value

AIA Group (01299) announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, with growth rates presented on a constant exchange rate basis. New business value increased by 13% to USD 1.757 billion. Excluding the Thailand business, the new business value growth was 22%. Annualised new premiums rose by 16% to USD 3.152 billion. The new business value margin remained strong at 56.0%.

Lee Yuan Siong, Group Chief Executive and President of AIA, stated, "AIA's robust growth momentum from 2025 continued into the first quarter of 2026, delivering a 13% increase in the Group's new business value. As previously indicated, the Thailand business had an exceptionally high base of comparison from last year; excluding Thailand, the Group's new business value growth was 22%. Our performance was broad-based, with all reporting segments, excluding Thailand, achieving year-on-year growth in new business value, reflecting the breadth and diversity of our business model. Our two largest markets, Mainland China and Hong Kong, both delivered outstanding growth of over 20% during the quarter."
